With a determined policy to place culture at the centre of its social and economic development, the Kingdom of Morocco has become, in just a few years, the cultural hub of Africa, Europe and The Middle East. This commitment has, among other things, led Marrakech to be designated African Capital of Culture 2020. In 2018, Artcurial took the initiative to launch Marrakech Art Week, uniting the Ochre City’s major cultural players.
Following the success of last year’s event, the date is set for an expanded second edition, to take place from 26th December 2019 to 5th January 2020, with the addition of 5 new participants. Sixteen cultural organisations – museums, foundations, art galleries and an auction house will be offering you a special programme of events (private viewings, exhibitions, conferences, etc.) with a common objective – to promote Moroccan and Oriental art and, more generally, art from the African continent.
We hope you enjoy your visit and make some wonderful discoveries!
